This is one of coziest places we ve been. We took their I guess best room - family bungalow with a sea view. Absolutely stunning view and sounds. Hotel itself is a big garden. We had gekkos coming on our terrace every night, I loved that. Everything (furniture etc), is not new, but you don t need that in a place like that. The only small minus is Internet - you have to pay 1000 baht extra for a wifi that allows only 1 device per session... Having a wife and 2 kids with smartphones and iPAD you can imagine the hassle ))) [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

I think this hotel is heavily overpriced. Smelly shower, no free wifi in the room - for 48 euros a day at 30% early bird discount this is ridiculous. On the bright side, the staff is friendly, helpful, and acts as your travel agent, should you decide to visit Angtong national park, for instance. The whole complex is nicely decorated. We stayed at Varinda Garden with our 3 daughters (3,7,10) for 6 nights and I can recommend it for families or couples. The Family house had enough space inside and outside, surroundet from a little jungle. The whole area is full of palmtrees, flowers and animals. The seaview from the pool is great!!!It is a typical thai-owned Resort. We had a nice stay there and we would come back! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Interesting hotel, but not recommendable. Not suitable for families with children and also not suitable for wheelchair access. Loud road. Extremely large number of mosquitoes (more than in the vicinity). Breakfast poor. Scrambled eggs and fried eggs were cold, melon was very old on the first day and thus inedible. Doors of the room could not be closed properly, you could reach through the door by hand. Price performance was very bad. There are in the vicinity better accommodations for less money. Those who expect that a hotel employee to help with the luggage, will be very disappointed. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

i love the attitude of the hotel ! Decoration everywhere. Hippistyle but with all that little gadgets everywhere they should keep the hygiene requirements on a higher level.some items didn´t really match the concept( if there was one) i didnt like all the plastic stuff in the bathroom for example . Plastic mirror etc it just didnt match. i dont mind the few insects that everyone is complaining about( hey its in the middle of a jungle) but bed linen , cushins for the pool should be replaced from time to time all this looked a little bit filthy to me. but with all the love that was put into this hotel they i could wink at it. i loved the stay soo much that i would go there again.But if anyone here needs a place without bugs or mosquitos, do your vacation somewhere else ! Отель понравился, но подушки белье и полотенца не очень хорошего качества,откровенно старые. Что хорошо- это отель семейный, все по домашнему, все бунгало утопают в саду со всякими игрушками зверушками из глины дерева старого и всякой старой хрени. Спускаться на пляж по крутой лестнице, и по улице, реально не долго. На мотике дольше объезжать вокруг. Отель интернациональный, и французы живут и немцы и всякие голландцы. За две недели в июле заехала еще одна русская пара когда мы уже уезжали. Бассейн маленький, но вид из него прекрасный с высока. То же самое с ресторана, так называемого. WiFi из номеров платный 100 бт за 1:30 или 1000бт безлимит. С reseption бесплатный. Еще раз сюда наверное не поеду. На входе живут два здоровенные добродушные лабрадора не мытые судя по запаху, хозяин или хозяйка любит собак, но до пляжа они не ходят и сами в море не купаются и реально воняют я имею ввиду собаки. Пляжные псы так не воняют. Если сидишь на reseption на FREE WIFI реально напрягает запах собак, они обе там постоянно тусуются. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Varinda - is the most friendly and customer-oriented hotel that I ve seen in Thailand. We travelled with our pet and they were really pet friendly! Special thanks to Noyee - she went out of her way to make everything the best for her guests. We are planning to be back there again and again - they are a really good value for money! This is a beautiful place and the staff is freindly and take good care of guests. This is a garden setting so the occasional bug was expected but I enjoyed all the frogs and geckos! Eventhough there were back alley steps down to town, I found the location very convenient to town and to the beach. I also felt very safe.

We really liked Varinda Garden Resort, nice and friendly people there. It is located in a wonderful garden up the hill at Lamai Beach. The whole area is decorated with care an taste in thaistyle. Very quiet wonderful pool area. The walk down to the beach is ok, the way up takes some more time - 90 steps!! The breakfast was not the burner. Very plain but the diner was good.We did not like the smell of the bed sheets and the towels. Altogether it was a nice location at Lamai to recomend to those people who want to have a quiet place.

Very nice place up on the hill. Good cuisine, very natural. Beautiful garden all over the resort. Nice pool. The place overall is very good but I would say it is not suitable for very small children (a lot of stairs, a lot of wooden paths with holes in it). We stayed at deluxe room and it was very nice. Though for a deluxe room I would expect a little view from the window and it was missing completely, we had another roof 30cm away from every window. The bed definitely needs to be fixed (small wooden parts falling apart). Staff was nice, good service.

This is a spectacular resort with exeptional kind staff. I will absolutly recommend this charming resort. It took apx 5 min to go to the beach, and the pool area is fantastic. We travelled with our children, 5 and 6 yrs.

We stayed in a Family House overlooking Lamai bay - fantastic views and lovely atmosphere - staff friendly and helpful, resort facilities good - location great - only downside was the steep climb up to the resort from the town and beach - about 30 very steep steps and staggered climb inbetween - if you have small children this will be hard work. Great resort - we had a great time!

Nice place with alot of lovely small details. Just the pool is a little bit small and the fitness facilities are not that good. But if you don t mind that things, i can recommend you to stay in this hotel, beacause all the rest is fine, the staff is friendly and room cleaning was every day well done! The location is also good, just a 10 minutes walk to the village and to the beach as well. All in all, we had a pleasent stay in Varinda Resort.

You feel like in a jungle in that resort, all green, away from the hustle and bustle of Lamai Beach. Great staff, nice bungalow, great view from the swimming pool, that was well maintained. Getting to Lamai Beach was a 5 minute walk down a quite steep walkway but ok for us. Breakfast was good also. Downside is the relatively small pool area with restricted space around it. So if resort is full, it can get quite packed there. Also no sunshades at the pool, so all sunbeds fully exposed to sun nearly all day. Just a few seats with some shading. Also a little bit pricy. But altogether recommended if you look for some tranquility, but next time I will probably look for something else closer to the beach and for lesser money. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

My family stayed in the Family room - plenty of space available. Rooms were well maintained by the staff. The pool was well used by our family and the kids particularly loved it - the views across Lamai are very spectacular. The whole place was clean, rooms and areas of the resort. I would stay there again no problems.

This place is lovely. The staff are super friendly, it s spotless and the view from the pool is just gorgeous (though the pool is smaller than the photo suggests). There s also something serene about Varinda, maybe it s the sound of windchimes and the lovely gardens. It s close enough to Lamai to walk to the beach and the action if you like but far enough away for some serious rest and relaxation....I thoroughly recommend this hotel [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Avery quite spot - but I think (in comparison with other resorts in Lamai) very over-priced for what they provide. I checked other much smarter/better located resorts during my visit and they were at least 50% and often more cheaper. They were alos directly on the beach - big draw back with Varinda is the huge climb up a large number of steps. My recommendation - shop around, there are much better deals to be had.

The hotel was a pleasant oasis set away from the hustle and bustle of central Lamai, yet still within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat and the view from poolside is nothing short of spectacular. The staff are both helpful and attentive whilst not being intrusive. Staff are really lovely here, it is a family run hotel and the restaurant staff are particulary pleasant. We had booked a 2 bedroomed family unit for 28 nights, but when we arrived they showed us to one smallish room with an extra bed, this was totally inadequate as we were travelling with our 17 year old son. After we complained they told us they had made a mistake with the booking and they would upgrade us to two delux rooms. They were new but but rarely cleaned properly, we complained but it didn t make any difference. So we bought our own cleaning stuff to clean the bath etc. We would stay there again but only if we couldn t get any where nearer the beach. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Nice hotel. Takes only 5-10mins to centre and beach which is what we wanted. Reception closed at 6pm on a saturday night (which i didnt know) and i wanted to get something out of the safe at 9pm. However they did let me get into the safe but I thought it was rather strange to close so early! Gave us 2 free waters when we arrived but they don t restock it. A few ants crawling round the place but didn t really bother us. Room was quite small but very nice. Would stay here again as everyone very friendly, nice pool and good location. We stopped in Varinda Resort for 5 days. It is located on raised surburb Lamai Beach, away from road, in very beautiful, well-groomed to a garden. Territory very pure and beautifully decorated. The garden has many various flowers and living creatures. In the evening in a garden it is possible to observe set of lizards and frogs, the garden is well shined. Behind a garden the permanent care is conducted and cleaning is done. Up to a beach of 10-15 minutes of walking. We lived in Deluxe Room Garden View. The small house was new enough, very spacious, pure, beautifully decorated, with the big terrace. In a house there was a greater convenient bed, a wardrobe, a pier glass, the TV, a refrigerator. Cleaning of a room was made daily, was exchanges the bed-clothes and towels. Phone and safety box were on the reseption, was available Internet. Was given the transfer up to the airport and rent of cars and motobike. Resort has a fine swimming pool with sun desks and towels, with an amazing kind on Lamai, the sea and mountains, near a swimming pool located the small restaurant with a viewing platform. The dishes was attractive enough, only sometimes bring not that you ordered or something forget. Especially it would be desirable to note very benevolent, friendly and sympathetic staff. All employees were very affable, smiling and executive. On all our questions we received exhaustive answers, all our requests were executed instantly. Service was very good. From lacks it is possible to note the following: it is a little noisy from various living creatures in a garden in the evening, can creep bugs and greater spiders in a house. General impression from hotel - very good. At our following visit on Patong Beach we necessarily again shall return in Varinda Resort. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

STAFF EXCELLENT REALLY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. ROOMS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. SWIMMING POOL AND VIEWS GREAT. WE WOULD GO BACK!

The hotel is very nice and we were extremely satisfied with our stay there. The rooms are beautiful and the view from the pool is fantastic. The walk to the beach isn t too long either. The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpfull. All in all, i can highly recommend this hotel!

The place eas lovely. Nice and spacious bungalow, nicely decorated in Thai style surrounded by tropical plants. clean and quiet. Stuff were frendly and helpfull. However, there is a bit of a climb (some 60 narrow & dark stair)from beach/town to bungalow [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]
